New York is one of 5 financial capitals in the world... Now why is New York the target... I can't justify but this looks to me like a very brutal and forceful scam, to forcibly implement use of digital currency payments or credit payment systems as I call them.

China, Italy then New York?. What is this, the coronavirus took an interconnected flight to New York?

Credit payment systems have no acceptable sanction from any government in the world, people are better off using their own credit/debit cards even though they may have a little bit of trouble servicing personal debts, but in the long term recovery will be quicker and solid, because central banks know how to manipulate their currencies, economic and personal banking policies into disequilibrium but with the credit payment systems they will lose all control and go into what is known as "a market failure".

JP tbh think only a stopped click can call an 11% rally. but while sup 2350 holds on close mkt can test 2640. risk to risk on is no tail on wkly candle - often a good start can then end badly, so better to start bad and then rally into end of week. not a rule, but often happens. in any case below 2350 all bets off for now can lean against it while abv.

viies 18:06 It is not a game. Read Jay's Amazing Trader lessons on "episodes" and timing. As you have noticed the market for EUR/USD goes in alternating "buy" and "sell" episodes. In the "buy" episode, the market focuses on buying and price goes up, and does the reverse in the "sell" episode.

If you do nothing else other than BUY in the "buy" episodes, and SELL in the "sell" episodes, you can make a tidy profit.

So for today, price was in the "buy" episode until a few hours ago, and is now in the "sell" episode. Wait a few hours, and we will be back in the "buy" episode again. Will price go all the way to 09xx and above? Perhaps...that's anticipation for you! It is most enjoyable once you get the timing right.

From a broker

Dear Client,

Please be advised that XAUUSD has been very illiquid and spreads have been widening to unprecedented levels. We are receiving news from various interbank dealing desks that the volatility and subsequent spread widening are due to a breakdown in Exchange for Physical (EFP) gold. Accordingly, refineries are shutting down and market makers who had short EFP positions are being adversely affected.

In order to allow continuous market pricing, we will be actively assessing and adjusting our spread filters to be wider in order to allow prices through. Please reassess your XAUUSD positions with considerations towards the current price volatility and trade with caution.

At present the United States holds only Euro and Yen in its foreign exchange reserves. Given domestic economic weakness, low inflation, and limited foreign currency-denominated debt for both economies, we do not think either currency would be ideal to buy in a coordinated intervention today. However, the currencies of several other important trading partners could fit the conditions—including Mexico and Brazil. If Dollar appreciation were to move to more extreme levels, it could eventually include Norway, Korea, Canada, and Australia as well. Together these currencies account for about one third of the trade-weighted Dollar index, so preventing further Dollar appreciation against these crosses could help protect US financial conditions and growth. We therefore see a reasonably strong case for considering targeted intervention, and a rising probability that authorities will take this step.

Political/Covid-19 Forum

Many years ago we created a Political Forum to be used during times of global crises.

It has for the most part been dormant of late but we are now reviving it.

It is an open forum where you can discuss anything to do with the current Covid-19 crisis. It is a place where you will feel you are not alone,

Go to www.global-view.com and in the upper menu bar, click on Forums, and you will see a link to the Political Forum (there is also a link in the forum directory on www.global-view.com)

Please contact us with any questions.

€ from a recovery perspective continues to revert to mean while mean also reverts to price off the 500 pt extention between 1.0950 - 1.0650. Probably needs 1.0800-1.0820 to hold in the short term for near term try towards 1.0900. From 1.0850-1.0900 personally prefer to trade the sell side again.

Searching for the answer myself... Possibilities?
- Wuhan comes out of lock down. Hope lives?
- US recovery package near passage?
- Medical cure at hand?
- Trumpy signaling maybe the means don't justify the ends?
- All? Other?

PS Closed usd/cad at cost. Sometimes my best trades are break even... No lectures please.

"Roughly 67 million Americans anticipate having trouble paying their credit card bills because of the coronavirus. Their struggles could easily ripple through the economy if left unaddressed, especially considering the more than $1 trillion in credit card debt currently owed by U.S. consumers," said WalletHub CEO Odysseas Papadimitriou.

"Yes, credit card companies should give relief to affected customers, just like they've done during major natural disasters in recent years,"

Update (2015ET): Perhaps realizing that facing down a second great depression if the US economy is halted indefinitely as a result of the coronavirus pandemic would not improve his re-election chances, President Trump struck a defiant tone at Monday's coronavirus press briefing when he said that the American economy can’t remain slowed for too long to fight the coronavirus, declaring that the country "was not built to be shut down."
