"To facilitate lending to small businesses via the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Federal Reserve will establish a facility to provide term financing backed by PPP loans, the Fed said in a brief statement. Additional details will be announced this week.
Effectively, the Fed will establish a secondary market for loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administrations Payroll Protection Program, and where the end buyer will be the Fed itself.
And so, what was supposed to be a no string attached rescue of America's small business, the PPP program has now mutated in yet another massive handout to the big banks, who will collect servicing costs ranging from 5% for small loans to 1% for larger ones, using Treasury capital (no origination risk) and then immediately selling these loans to the Fed if they turn sour (no balance sheet risk).
(like I said this Crew makes OG&B look like pikers)

Meanwhile this virus joke continues.
It's not spreading, it's not particularly dangerous, hi-dose intravenous Vitamin C and Chloroquene are both effective in treating the thing but it's the ONLY cover story they have right now. I note the media (which basically runs this farce) is now touting early release in some countries. How very comforting.
China is still at the pointy end when this thing ends: it ain't getting the money back from Treasuries and its trade with the U.S. will also suffer. The European Project either gets its bonds or the project starts to fall over (I'm hoping for the second option) and BREXIT? Johnson is in hospital.... does he get out? Singapore Retail Investors Use Cheap Cash to Load Up on Stocks - BBRG
(Bloomberg) -- Record low interest rates are tempting some retail investors in Singapore to load up on debt to buy shares, just as the coronavirus outbreak creates the most volatile markets since the global financial crisis.
Earlier this year, 31-year-old insurance agent Heng Kai Sheng got advances on three separate credit cards to the tune of S$150,000 ($105,000). With the money, he opened a share-financing account at a local bank and pledged the lot as collateral. He was granted leverage of around 3.5 times, a S$500,000 kitty Hengs plowing into the stock market.
As Asians, our parents always tell us Dont borrow money, repay your mortgage as soon as possible, said Heng, whose initial S$170,000 share portfolio now totals about S$135,000. But money is so cheap. .../..
