JP, u put it well, its a theory, there are no concrete parameters in pinpointing it, such as in case of a fib or resistance line. but i use such resistances and supports within a defined pattern of play that i see and lean on those levels to try to predict when such an event can happen. so its a lot down to feel. before we got here off the low, i would have expected it to happen with a 2640/6 high, the 38,2 fib, thats the minimum correction for any retractment, so the theory goes. we did a bit more. but i dumped all my stocks today by uk/european close. i didnt know it would happen, but the conditions were ripe for it - after a big up day, stretched mkt after big run, approaching long weekend, then an intraday move higher which gets run down by the close creating a doji or wick on daily candle. the odds of it happening today were good. not certain but better than average. we had a similar condition, seen well on your chart, but to the upside, pre the bigger drop down. from what i understand its one of the biggest reversals since the financial crash in 2008, so it may well mean we tapped the top of the bear rally.

This is where its left. Italy the main holdout. To be resumed tomorrow.
Google Translate for the full story.

The ministers will have to resume the debate on the way out of the crisis. However, community sources explained that there are already two fronts among those who want to prepare the way out for recovery. Berlin is in favor of using the EU budget, aware that in this way it can cap the amounts to be disbursed more easily. On the other hand, Paris and Madrid prefer a new instrument, which involves obtaining new resources in the markets and is halfway between the Eurobonds that continue to defend Italy and the German position. The European Commission also defends that this kind of Marshall plan is within the EU budget for the period 2021-2027.

(CNN)The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now recommending that all Americans wear homemade face coverings in public to help stem the spread of coronavirus.
But Trevon Logan, an economics professor at Ohio State University, will not be following this guidance.
"We have a lot of examples of the presumed criminality of black men in general," Logan, who is black, told CNN. "And then we have the advice to go out in public in something that ... can certainly be read as being criminal or nefarious, particularly when applied to black men."

Why some people of color say they won't wear homemade masks

yes if its flu like, which, well it is, then its likely to be annual, unless they can completely iradicate it. if so, then why cant they do that with flu which is less contagious. worse still is some suggestion that it may lay dormant in people ready to strike when immune system is weakened, much like hiv. if such case it would almost certainly be an engineered disease. but that as yet has not been proven. infected and recovered cases need to be monitor this winter.

The new virus, which was discovered in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, belongs in the same large family of coronaviruses that includes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which killed nearly 800 people globally during a 2002/03 outbreak that also started in China.

Though experts say the new virus does not appear to be as lethal as SARS, there is little known about its origins and how easily it can spread. Thailand and Japan have confirmed new cases of the virus earlier this week, stoking worries globally as many of the 1.4 billion Chinese people will travel abroad during the Lunar New Year holidays that begin next week.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also warned that a wider outbreak is possible, though it has advised against any travel restrictions for China.

the Virus is a Covered-UP Story.

Taiwan says WHO ignored December warning on Coronaviruss person-to-person transmission.
The alert was ignored.

As late as January 14, just two weeks before WHO declared Covid-19 a global health emergency, the global health agency tweeted that preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.

The first case of someone in China suffering from Covid-19, the disease caused by the Sars-Cov2, can be traced back to November 17, according to government data seen by the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post.

We're not broke it's the PANDEMIC

I remain of the opinion that the Virus is a cover story.

The problem is the melt down in financial markets which started in the States in September last year. They shut down the economy to try to figure a way out of this mess and to give cover for an enormous fiscal stimulus which is, in any case, likely to backfire (the fiscal stimulus is likely pouring fuel accelerant on a fire).

I think they panicked, are still panicking and have no coherent plan for addressing any of this: not the lock down, not the funding problems.... nothing. Lost in space. This is the best they could do and it's a joke.

CB.... I think the China narrative is a big suspect but it meets an end. The U.S. can not afford to pay back China. Now it won't, and the virus is a convenient cover. In the same way the U.S. would probably be better off if it started producing for itself, enough with this out sourcing to a slave economy, again the virus is a great excuse for more trade restrictions with China, which I think is coming. This whole virus thing is a complete scam in my opinion. I don't think there is a huge increase in deaths and apparently hospitals are empty. See the tag #emptyhospitals on twitter.

Seems that way. In Spain for example they site the weekend effect as the cause for the rise in deaths. I guess they don't count as good on Saturday and Sunday?

Plan going forward is to test a sample of 64,000 people to see where the virus is trending. 3 weeks later they will run another 'sampling' test. If its getting better the plan is to start to slowly disengage from lockdown. Best case Mid May? Maybe?

2740/41 prev channel abv that CB's spoos fib by 2769. if all that done then 2855. at that point surely not just close long index/stock possies but small shrt.
as for cable, its a risk asset so does better today. boris out of equation would be positive sterling as next in line likely closer to EU than Boris. only caveat there would be the election risk of unelected PM. but that would take some time to fester as tory majority large.

FWIW- I gather PM Johnson is getting oxygen but reportedly he is NOT on a ventilator. There is a big difference. Some chatter of a "unity" government in the U.K., but I don't see why with the Conservatives with a solid majority?

We're not broke it's the PANDEMIC

"So, if you are as smart as you think youll realize its over.

Armed with a concierge health care provider, some hydroxychloroquine, a $5 Z-pack, and some red meat, well brave the Coronapocalypse and get back to rebuilding our communities you so desperately want to destroy.

Weve already won and this world no longer belongs to you. Because failure here is the end of you."

Meanwhile back at the farm the U.S. is no longer issuing passports. Ron Paul warned that THE WALL could be used to keep Americans IN.

Boris Johnson, that naughty man who got BREXIT going, is in intensive care, isolated from his family and the world. Given his role in Brexit, I think his life is at risk. Proto-fascists are nothing if not fanatical about achieving their aims by any means necessary.

Upshot of what the (now nationalised) FED is doing: massive inflation is on the horizon at some point.
