to get that kind of payout on death youd need to be paying a couple grand a year cover. and i expect most of those folks dont/didnt have life insurance so its better than nothing. also worth noting that everyone is entitled to free nhs in the uk, so unlike in the usa, family members continue to be able to access nhs, warts n all. but still free access to a vital service.

Why should the people and taxpayers of America be bailing out poorly run states (like Illinois, as example) and cities, in all cases Democrat run and managed, when most of the other states are not looking for bailout help? I am open to discussing anything, but just asking?

Very well said. Agree re negative but with one caveat. In the trading world for every negative there must be a positive. So whats the positive on the other side of the "/" ?

The debt hangover will be enormous, though FED buying (introduced as part of the Covid response) will hide the impact on markets. This development will see the USD's status as a reserve currency take a bit more of a hit.
China is pressing ahead with the introduction of Crypto in five cities, the suggestion being made that Crypto will eventually replace the buck as the international reserve currency. Crypto which is gold backed is a hypothesis making the rounds. I don't have the details on any of this. Don't know how that will work. There is a link somewhere if people want to look.
Certainly the clear lack of unity in the U.S. won't help. The ongoing attack on Trump for "everything" from the media and the Democrats just isn't a good look internationally and that war keeps on rolling. With an election coming up: expect intensification. The anti-Trump circus misses the bigger picture which is negative for the international status of the USA generally. Do they care? It appears not. So same old on that front and economic data is likely to compound the problem.
Europe is a joke but not more than before and the fancy suits and the fake erudition of our dear leaders white washes the issue. In any case the Euro is not an international reserve currency so no change on that front. What is changing is the international position of the States... and not in a good way.
USD implications? Negative of course.

There is a limit to what central banks can do. Economic downturns are normally caused by imbalances, and central banks help to resolve those imbalances. This is not the case today. The downturn is policy-driven, and central bank policy plays a very junior role in fiscal policy.

JP, normally i would say gap closes today, but i feel they arent interested in letting u buy so low (amazon) now it has gone up, although there is always a small chance while under 2880/85 that it fills today because there could be some news. abv 2880/85 then daily channel at 2917 ahead of 61.8 fib of 2934. there you can say it can pull back. Again a wick is needed otherwise mkt almost always returns to the price. Going up first gives chance of making a wick but prior to amazon its a tall order imo.

Bill Gates claims that criticisms of how China lied and covered up the coronavirus is a distraction: China did a lot of things right at the beginning they avoided the incredible economic pain I think theres a lot of incorrect and unfair things said

"Well, I don't think that's a timely thing because it doesn't affect how we act today. You know, China did a lot of things right. At the beginning, like any country where a virus first shows up, they can look back and say that they missed some things," Gates said, adding "Some countries did respond very quickly and get their testing in place, and they avoided the incredible economic pain - and it's sad that even the US that you would have expected to do this well, did it particularly poorly - but it's not time to talk about that."
Gates then suggested that this is the time "to take the great science we have, the fact that we're in this together, fix testing and treatments and get that vaccine, and minimize the trillions in dollars and many things that you can't even dimensionalize in economic terms that are awful about the situation that we're in.
"That's a distraction," Gates
