During an afternoon Fox News interview, President Trump again repudiated Joe Biden's claim that Trump would need to be escorted out of the White House by the military, and slammed the former VP as "not all there."

Asked what he would do instead of triggering a constitutional crisis if he doesn't repeat his 2016 electoral college triumph, Trump says he would move on from politics to do "other things".

“Joe is just not all there. Everybody knows it. And it’s sad when you look at it and you see it, you see it for yourself,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News. “And certainly if I don’t win, I don’t win. I mean, you know, go on and do other things.”

Some reason why a Best Seller would not be restocked??? I won't even go there.

The USA has gone so batshit crazy in these months of the corona virus freak-out that an orgy of looting, arson, and murder, on top of epic job loss and business failure, propelled the stock markets up-up-and-away back to near-record highs — until it finally puked yesterday in a rare moment of self-revulsion, like a sot who has been drinking after-shave.

I was at a Walgreens yesterday to drop off a FedEx package (they are the local stop in my neighborhood). While I was there, I thought I'd get some Walgreens pain reliever (generic store-brand Tylenol).

I was amazed at how empty the shelves were. Lots of stuff was missing besides alcohol and peroxide...a lot of the pain reliever pills were missing as well. Those shelves are usually jam-packed.

I didn't even bother to look for masks.

Home Depot and Lowes, those big box DYI home improvement corporations are still OUT OF STOCK for any kind of dust masks...not even N95s which were sold for use when sanding drywall at at about $1.50 each....No Masks whatsoever are available.

Add to that, it is still not possible to buy a 32oz bottle of Isopropyl alcohol (normally $2) at any corp chain drug store
or supermarket. Hydrogen peroxide is also scarce. These are common wound cleansers for cuts and scrapes.

US IBs believe in a last minute extension. This is 101% certain not to happen. A deal by end of year (bare bones) MAY happen, a low chance, but all the same a chance. But forget extensions to transition. The eu wants one, but the uk decides. boris has said over and over, no. I expect sterling will price that in nearer end of month and i think there will be some follow thru on folks thinking the same happens for the post exit arrangement, so it may overshoot to downside, after which overoptimist banks come in to buy it again.

Swiss police investigate eight-year-old boy over fake banknotes

Meanwhile, police in Switzerland have investigated an eight-year-old boy after he allegedly asked whether he could use a toy banknote in a village shop. The police contacted the boy’s parents and visited their home for three hours, brandishing stills from CCTV footage. Although the unnamed boy was not charged with any offence, his name will reportedly be on police records until May 2032.

Update (1220ET): After Steven Mnuchin and Larry Kudlow insisted that the US wouldn't shut down its economy again even if COVID-19 cases rebound, the CDC said Friday during a conference call that new mitigation measures might be necessary if there's a dramatic increase in cases, and those measures might be similar to measures from March.

After taking a closer look at the details, I came to two conclusions:

1. Chaz tries to do the right things, but suffers from incompetence and lack of resources.

2. The city of Seattle and the state of Washington has tons of resources and basic competence, but they don't want to even try to do anything right.

Chaz is trying to grow food...they are failing, but they are trying. They don't know much about agriculture, and they don't have much to work with.

Chaz is guarding its borders...the opposite of Seattle and Washington state.

Chaz is run by a "warlord" and his gang, who deals with crime and social disruption in the ways you might expect from a gang. Troubling, but it's a lot more than the demoralized Seattle PD, who stands aside and does nothing as crime occurs.

It's bizarro world, that's for sure.

Reason- To protect emerging market countries from shortage of USD in USD runaway mkt. As things go for these countries they are largely screwed. Add in shortage of USD and goes from bad to worse. It kind of explains a relentless bid in the EUR around 1.08 followed by pretty much straight move higher to 1.14 with no pullbacks or pauses of any significance. It also explains the reversal of some of the emerging currencies the last few weeks. Does not explain whats been going on in the JPY tho. An illuminating history of North America's eleven rival cultural regions that explodes the red state-blue state myth.

North America was settled by people with distinct religious, political, and ethnographic characteristics, creating regional cultures that have been at odds with one another ever since. Subsequent immigrants didn't confront or assimilate into an “American” or “Canadian” culture, but rather into one of the eleven distinct regional ones that spread over the continent each staking out mutually exclusive territory.

On Monday, when the market hit its absolute blow off top phase and Robinhooders sent the stock of bankrupt Hertz as high as $6.25, resulting in a market cap of just under $900 million - a testament to the absolute idiocy of capital markets - we decided to double down on this idiocy and said that "we hope the company sells a few hundred million worth of stock - after all there is apparently endless demand for its shares - just so we can test the so-called "price discovery" of Powell's latest and greatest FOMO bubble."

Well, it turns out that some banker at Jefferies read us, however ignoring the clear sarcasm of this proposal decided to turn it into what may soon be the most insane and/or stunning, maybe even legendary capital markets product ever proposed: an Initial Bankruptcy Offering. You see, after the close on Thursday, Jefferies filed a motion in the Hertz bankruptcy case, seeking to sell $500 million in bankrupt Hertz stock (or 246,775,008 HTZ shares) in a "unique opportunity" to "raise capital on terms that are far superior to any debtor-in-possession financing."

Why is Jefferies proposing this deal? Because "the recent market prices of and the trading volumes in Hertz’s common stock potentially present a unique opportunity for the Debtors to raise capital on terms that are far superior to any debtor-in-possession financing."

In other words, the feverish retail participation in the most ridiculous asset bubble ever created by the Fed is just the opportunity Jefferies - and Hertz - needed to turn the bankruptcy process on its head.
