'Gaslighting' Is The Word Of The Year
Reply
Every year Merriam-Webster picks a word to capture the culture of a moment in time. The choice is based on the frequency and quantity of search as well as the departure from the norm. This year the choice seems perfect: gaslighting.
The term means to be subjected to extended psychological trickery to cause the victim to question his or own reality.
Tellingly, last years word was vaccine.

Goldman Trader: Many Have Thrown In The Towel On 2022 And Elected To "Shut Things Down" Into Year-End
Positioning remains very light with many sitting on max levels of cash and with the S&P now down only 15/16% there is a cost to that sitting on the sidelines that is getting harder to carry.

MILAN, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Shares in Credit Suisse (CSGN.S) tumbled to a fresh lifetime low below 3 Swiss francs on Tuesday as investors dumped rights to subscribe to new shares in the loss-making lender.
By 0937 GMT, Credit Suisse shares fell 3.3% to 2.912 Swiss francs as the subscription rights tumbled 22% to 0.112 on the second day of trading on the Swiss bourse.
The capital increase, which was approved by investors on Wednesday last week, is intended to fund the embattled bank's turnaround plan, an attempt to recover from the biggest crisis in its 166-year history.
