Our comments over the weekend took note of the developing EURUSD uptrend. Note that the closely followed 20-day moving average in EURUSD was 1.0549 as of Friday's close. That is nearly 200pips below the current spot. Furthermore, the 20-day moving average trend has turned upward sloping. Today the EURUSD is attempting to establish itself above the 1.0700 line. The HOD has been 1.0755, while the LOD is 1.0693. The HOD has been 1.0755 (note its proximity to the neutral 1.0750 line). Expect the usual stops at the Highs and Lows of the day. In addition to the psychological 1.0700 line, expect support at 1.0733.
The GBPUSD is higher on the day ahead of The PM May visit to Washington and U.K. Supreme Court decision on whom can invoke Article 50 for Brexit tomorrow. The GBP HOD is 1.2472 and is LOD has been 1.2369. EURGBP is lower. It was last at 1.2460. Flows in and out of the EURUGB cross can have a decisive impact on the value of the EURUSD.
