Looks like there were new vulnerable longs in EURUSD put on before the Draghi comments on Thursday. They would have added to the number of positions that had to be liquidated based on the Draghi comments. We will never know what these positions were because the CFTC does not generate these key data. Note on the charts that the spot vs. 20day moving average is a decent predictor of net EUR longs.
If the spot vs, 20 is a reliable predictor as we assert then we know that the markets turned to sellers of EURUSD starting at below 1.3840 yesterday. Today momentum stops would have come in at 1.3835 and below. This is not a market to fade. You have to allow the stop-loss selling to run its course, especially before a weekend.

interesting on this chart. The Commercials are basically flat. The tug is between the Sm Specs(Long) and the Lg Specs(Short).
