because if it was really a Republic, tacking on a 50cent a gal TAX in less than 30 days, couldn't happen with Zero Objection or Questions as to Why.
sort of like Taxation Without Representation...1776 and all that.
Back then the Tax on Tea ....TEA was considered a problem. You could not drink tea and still get to your job.

thing is JP, it's been a kingdom for some time- 40-50 years, and it's not his to hand down. He's just the spokesmodel.
Livingston nh 22:02:23 GMT - 03/17/2016
JP - this is more appropriate on another forum BUT there is a RULE in politics - as a candidate NEVER engage the Village Idiot - the Republicans lost the Plot// specific to Trump - the OW&B folks are trying to convince the Great Unwashed to abandon their Champion - not gonna happen becuz they would support anyone who was not OW&B (this is the equivalent of a parent bringing in an Aunt or Grandparent to support your position)
Like Antaeus the more elites resist him the stronger he gets (a more recent analogy would be Brer Rabbit in the Briar Patch) - after yesterday maybe he might screw things up enough that those who are first will soon be last

Obama joins the International Coalition Against Trump. TRUMP is now seen as THE biggest threat to the Status Quo Criminal Banking Syndicate the world has ever seen. (and it's only March).
Personnally, I expect to seen violence not witnessed since the 1968 Campaign.
As Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton begin to tighten their grips on their respective party nominations, President Obama is plunging into the campaign fray, not only to help Democrats retain the White House but in defense of his own legacy in a political climate dominated by Trump.
“The president has been clear that as we get closer to the general election, it will become even more important that the American people understand what is at stake,” White House deputy press secretary Jennifer Friedman said in an email.
CB - and that's the beauty of a currency war - if everybody eases nobody's eased
These MOPES don't understand it's not the price (aka rates) it's the availability of money -- money that doesn't move has no effect
dc CB 20:57:03 GMT - 03/17/2016
And all it took was the four largest central banks in the world coordinating on easing.

CNNmoney (HK) 3/1/2016 --
"U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Tuesday that he doesn't expect an all-out global currency war anytime soon.
Such risks are now "greatly, greatly reduced" after discussions held at a summit of G20 central bank and finance ministers over the weekend in Shanghai, Lew told a news briefing in Hong Kong.
"It adds a new commitment, which means there won't be any surprises," he said. "You won't see countries acting in a way that triggers the kind of competitive devaluation that leads to a currency war -- that's very important."
AND JANET MISSED THIS PART OF THE MEMO:
Lew urged China and other governments to clearly communicate the reasoning behind policy changes to avoid market turmoil, especially "at a time when the actions that governments are taking are being judged in real time."

A plot against the USD? No, don't think so.

US multinationals and commodity companies benefitting from the lower dollar . Financials suffering from lower interest rates for longer .
The USA not being a commodity country , impact of higher commodities rather negative than positive .
Russia the big winner from this policy .

Jay - this is not hidden - it is a totally incompetent FED - world trade is collapsing and a weaker dollar exacerbates that - oil is a supply function - it isn't down because of lack of demand, the price got too high; well above its utility value
Repayment of EM dollar denominated loans poses a risk to other countries - keep the dollar strong and MAYBE we can pull them along // the myth of a weaker USD helping our manufacturing is dangerous - we are a service based economy - if you TURN on the manufacturing side you weaken the opportunity for the rest of the world to send product here because they are commodity/manufacturing economies so the downward spiral creates more oversupply
BoJ fked their economy becuz they MADE people save more; here we are screwing banks, pension funds, insurance companies w/ these idiotic monetary policies -- THE FED has been tight becuz it holds 2.5 trio of liquidity (aka MONEY) out of the economy - the savings rate has increased while the savings income portion has declined// and the idiot Yellen thinx the Philips Curve will drive inflation but the issue is who benefits from inflation // the CBs are doing things that are totally counterproductive to their alleged GOALS -- Deflation cannot be beaten by lower interest rates because it stops the flow of money
My Morning question was Lew's Credibility - my new question is DOES ANYBODY THINK LEW GAVE THE NOD TO THIS CURRENCY WAR?
