California and NY are where virtually all the money is.
Perhaps not for long:
California's birthrate falls to its lowest level on record
...Between July 2015 and July of this year, there were 12.42 births per 1,000 Californians, the agency said this week. The last time the birthrate came close to being that low was during the Great Depression, when it hit 12.6 per 1,000 in 1933. ....
Like Japan--California may be seeing its decline coming.
I am not sure quality of life is so great in California (when I lived there the smog in LA was horrible)

Merry Christmas matie. Remember knowledge is power. Little anecdote: ran into a French girl here who has been working here 5 years. Recently she had to have an operation on her knee. Wait time in Cairns: 6 months. She flew to France got it done. The French kicked up a bit of stink since she has not been paying into the ststem. But she got it done. Free. Don't know what her add on costs would have been in Cairns. Australians are getting bilked. In debt to their eyeballs and 'happy' as long as property prices keep going up. I could go on. I won't. But trust me your standard of living sucks.

Australia: where you find the palest, fattest people who only think they have it good because they are told so, over and over. And you can't say so cause then you are 'fat shaming' them. Meanwhile lopping off limbs is seen as the treatment for diabetes. Food is expensive and of poor quality because distribution is monopolised by Coles and Woolworths. Well done.
Paris ib 02:02:21 GMT - 12/22/2016
Education is not equivalent to smarter. More medical treatment is not equivalent to healthier. Bout time the Anglos learnt to eat healthier, get out of the car and off the coach get some sunshine fresh air, do some sport and grow their own food and use their own brains instead of repeating these god-awful slogans which pass for ideas. Currently in Cairns and what a sorry lot of fat, pale people you have here.

Yeah thats what America needs right now....
dumber, sicker people working for the minimum wage paying more for everything because of a 20% tax on imports.

Hope Trump carries through on that one. Regulation is put of control everywhere I have been. And then there is the big education industry scam - out of control everywhere producing morons who think they know something but don't - and the big health industry scam. Read Myth of Mental illness recently - all these new mental illnesses are being diagnosed because of the huge industry - insurance, doctors, hospitals, pharmaceuticals behind it. Is The Donald up to the challenge? Hope so.

All regulation is a TAX - over the last 30 years most of the regulation fails the cost/benefit test
IF Trump can rid us of wasteful regulation that benefits small groups rather than the nation it will be far better than a direct TAX cut --an example in my town is the cost of town employees in large trucks gathering leaves that have been raked, or more annoyingly "blown", into piles to the street
The prior solution was to burn the leaves on a Saturday afternoon w/ neighbors who sent children into fetch more beer -- no cost to taxpayers ($90,000 small town) and good social opportunity
Oh, but wait what about the environment or the sickly children -- gimme a break
How much does the EEOC cost US business -- or the stupid calorie count regulation on a donut shop menu? (should I have the 400 cal. Jelly donut or the 450 cal. Boston crème?) - Affirmative Action should be the first to go (seems it's causing some problems for California and NY liberals whose kids can't compete w/ the minority Asian groups)
BEST one would be Government employees banned from VOTING -- talk about Depression

California and NY are where virtually all the money is. Trump won the states that have little wealth, no discretionary spending or ability to boost aggregate demand. Its bizarre that such an unpopular divisive leader within the most crucial parts of the country can be spun as being a positive cathartic event who will enjoy a beautifatic honeymoon.
Trump is coming in to a Stockmarket that has rallied 200,300 and 400% in places on his predecessors eight year watch. Forget the comparisons to Ronald Reagan it's more like GWB Mark 2 - e.g. 2001

Much of the Presidential election commentary over the past 30 years is the failure of candidates to reach 50% of the "popular" vote -- there is a reason the Electoral college was set up this way (much like my personal objection to the popular election of Senate) -- SO Trump loses by YUUGE majority in CA and NY but wins in close elections elsewhere
52% for Clinton 47.2 for TRUMP -- whining starts immediately

I do not expect "this better stop quickly". I may not wish it, but I won't be surprised if donald and gang start going after some heads that appear ODD to donald's perception.
Donald Trump has secured 304 Electoral Votes following the Texas vote (with 2 faithless electors).
dc CB 20:53:36 GMT - 12/19/2016
Dec 19, 2016 3:49 PM EST The count: Donald Trump has 256 Electoral votes; Hillary Clinton has 135 votes. There are 143 votes pending.
Let's just call it another backfire. LOL
Four Democratic voters in Washington chose not to vote for Hillary Clinton, becoming "faithless" voters. Clinton took the other 8 votes in the state. Three Democratic electors have tried to be "faithless" by not voting for Clinton. One in Maine, one in Minnesota and one in Colorado. Those votes were changed and registered for Clinton.
dc CB 20:35:39 GMT - 12/19/2016
as of 3:15pm ET:
241 electoral votes had been cast for Trump,
127 electoral votes had been cast for Hillary Clinton.
Minnesota cast 10 votes for Hillary Clinton after Muhammad Abdurrahan, a "faithless voter" refused to vote for her and was replaced by an alternate
Maine Democratic elector casts vote for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders for president instead of Hillary Clinton. The Maine elector who voted for Bernie Sanders has his vote ruled "improper." He has switched the vote to Clinton.
