USD drops as USA tries to sell bonds while Jamie Dimon sees US yields rising sharply.

"Dimon sees US yields rising sharply."
really , rising sharply ? what is "sharply" ?
"I think rates should be 4 percent today," Dimon said
ref 21:51 quote
BUT , dear jamie, they are not. (at 2.949 25% below where jamie thinks they should be today)
and folks wonder why President Trump uses Twitter to by-pass "interpreters" / propaganda peddlers

I saw the Dimon interview late last week. He was talking about sharply higher rates some time in the (indefinite) future. I was expecting 5 years ago that the 10-yr would be at the 5% level by this time and since I have had to re-calibrate. Shockingly, even 3.00%, has become a difficult target. There is no doubt that central bank manipulation (Quantitative Ease-QE) has distorted the "normal" functioning of the marketplace. Keep in mind that Dimon is not an impartial observer. Banks will make a lot more money if the yield curve steepens lending long and funding short. the "newsreaders" are not aware of this!

The US nightmare scenario would be if the yield curve steepens due to a flight from Treasuries given the endless rising budget deficits and supply of government paper. This would lead to stagflation but would probably need to see an end to QE globally to dry up liquidity.
This is for a future discussion so just keep it on the back end of your blotter.

the one thing that has been , and is likely to be again, entertaining is Asian propensity to :
1) outright lie / deny / posture at any cost to save face and
2) panic when SHTF
it is a cultural thing.

The 3 went: 3Y Note Yields Most Since May 2007 In Ugly, Tailing Auction As Foreign Buyers Flee (ZerHedge)
sooooo, maybe the 10Y Yield will creep up to the 2.8 - 2.9X range to attract MoBuyers?....And that will do what to STOX-R-US and the USD
