Last week the big fear was Hurricane Barry.
The week before is was earthquakes, a 7.1 in California, near LA.
What Da NUZ did not mention about the quakes...
Now in bankruptcy, with its third president in two years, PG&E is utterly unqualified to run two large, old, obsolete, crumbling atomic reactors which are surrounded by earthquake faults. At least a dozen faults have been identified within a small radius around the reactors. The reactor cores are less than fifty miles from the San Andreas fault, less than half the distance that Fukushima Daiichi was from the epicenter that destroyed four reactors there.
Diablo cannot withstand an earthquake of the magnitude now hitting less than 200 miles away. In 2014, the Associated Press reported that Dr. Michael Peck, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s site inspector at Diablo, had warned that the two reactors should be shut because they can’t withstand a seismic shock like the one that has just hit so close. The NRC tried to bury Peck’s report. They attacked his findings, then shipped him to Tennessee. He’s no longer with the Commission.

Someone who lives in a "legal" state. Sources high quality seeds and grows a few plants(number limited by Law) for personnal use. Planted outdoors in the sun --- a pound up to a kilo at harvest. 6ft plants. Way way way more than adequate unless you are a "wake and bake" basement dweller or parteeee alot.
The only thing that makes the hi-tech greenhouse operations viable is the "LAWS". Growing it in scale without a license...and the kicker is that Federally growing it at all is still ILLEGAL --- a Federal Crime. so if they care to...you are toast and headed to the Big House.

One of Canopy Growth (TSE: WEED // NYSE:CGC) growers claims to produce 60 tonnes of weed / yr for $6,000,000 in labour costs. The old tomato greenhouse cost at least $15 million to retrofit into a state-of-the-art grow-op.
The question, according to one expert (haha), is whether legal weed will thrive in a place with such a strong black market.
ps: states that have made RecToking legal, like Colorado, tout the bountiful ($billions) in taxes that flow into gov coffers. If/When the Federal Gov legalizes pot nationwide...well U do the math.
Weed Taxes and Gambling, not a great plan for funding state budgets that by law, must be balanced (unlike the Feeral Gov.)

You’d have to be stoned out of your mind, to want to own any of these companies.
I’m willing to admit that early entrants made fortunes as they navigated Byzantine legal structures and capitalized on the initial gold rush phase. However, the boom is rapidly collapsing. Let’s face it, cannabis is a commodity product, it is priced based on supply and demand. With a lag, you can build endless production facilities and produce unlimited quantities of cannabis. It’s called “weed” for a reason. When this happens, what do you think happens to pricing? This is why, despite billions in subsidies, there aren’t many rich farmers. Agriculture is a terrible business.
What is happening in Canada will happen one by one to the individual US states. A weed will always out-grow its demand if you throw unlimited capital at it. The idea that you can dump excess product from one place to another is silly because the current patchwork of laws was created to protect local producers and jobs—meanwhile black-market players will continue to arbitrage cheap supply into protected demand regions and undercut legal producers. That said, I feel that we are a year or three too early to talk about the collapse in US cannabis companies. That will come—don’t worry. For now, I’m focused on Canadian names.

The massive offshore wind farm that would usher Massachusetts into a new clean-energy era sure has hit rough water..... wind-energy supporters are getting nervous about the unexpected events this week involving permits for Vineyard Wind’s 84-tower wind farm to be built south of Martha’s Vineyard.
The Edgartown Conservation Commission on Wednesday denied an underwater cable route off the town’s coastline, citing the potential disturbance to marine habitats and other conflicts. (Local fishermen weren’t happy, either.) On Friday, Vineyard Wind vowed to get a “superseding order” from the state Department of Environmental Protection — a more sympathetic venue — that would overturn the commission vote
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti admitted recently that the true motivation behind introducing the Green New Deal is to overhaul the “entire economy.”
Chakrabarti said that addressing climate change was not Ocasio-Cortez’s top priority in proposing the Green New Deal during a meeting with Washington governor Jay Inslee.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts, according to a Washington Post reporter who attended the meeting for a profile published Wednesday.
“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” he added.
Mary Heafy's main complaint. The 64-year-old has asthma that is worse during the allergy season. During her appointment with Rice.....
"It feels like once [the allergy season] starts in the springtime, it doesn't end until there's a killing frost," Heafy tells Rice, with some exasperation.
"Yes," Rice nods, "because of global warming, the plants are flowering earlier in the spring. After hot summers, the trees are releasing more pollen the following season. And the ragweed — it's extending longer into the fall."
Then Howard turns to Rice with a question she didn't encounter in medical school: "Can I ask you: Last summer, why was it so hot?"
Rice, who studies air pollution, is ready.
"The overall trend of the hotter summers that we're seeing [is] due to climate change," Rice says, "and with the overall upward trend, we've got the consequences of climate change."
For Rice, connecting those consequences — heat waves, more pollen, longer allergy seasons — to her patients' health is becoming routine. She is among a very small but growing number of doctors and nurses who discuss those connections with patients.

Sub-Zero Yields Start Taking Hold in Europe's Junk-Bond Market
(Bloomberg) -- Central bankers hinting at more monetary stimulus have depressed yields so much that even some European junk bonds trade at levels where investors have to pay for the privilege of holding them.
The number of euro-denominated junk bonds trading with a negative yield -- a status until recently associated with ultra-safe sovereign borrowers -- now stands at 14, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. At the start of the year there were none.
Cheap money policies since the financial crisis have kept interest rates at, or near, all-time lows for the last decade. That’s prompted many investors to buy riskier assets that yield enough for them to meet their liabilities, driving bond markets higher and yields lower. The European Central Bank said on Monday it’s ready to add more stimulus to the euro zone, indicating that an end to the age of ultra-low borrowing costs is far from over.
The European trend follows a global pattern that’s seen the volume of securities yielding less than zero hovering just above $12.8 trillion, according to Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
High yield borrowers with bonds denominated in euros trading with a negative yield include:
