Trump upping the trade war rhetoric.
That sir is an understatement.
check the last set of Trump Tweets
Also, I am ordering all carriers, including Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the Post Office, to SEARCH FOR & REFUSE,....
....all deliveries of Fentanyl from China (or anywhere else!). Fentanyl kills 100,000 Americans a year. President Xi said this would stop - it didnít.

Trump unchained ... and none too early
Xi needs to experience more moRE pain

I hope PREZ takes his meds before he gets to France -- Powell gave up his lunch money again
SPX filled Monday's gap - next up Friday last
Livingston nh 15:29:52 GMT - 08/23/2019
A coupla pips on the 2/10 and the STOCK KIDZ can freak out again
Mtl JP 15:30:04 GMT - 08/23/2019
nh which meds time do you prefer :
before or after "will be responding to Chinaís Tariffs this afternoon." ?
and outside personal wish , what will your President do ?
so far he has disappointed me with his magnanimity towards Xi
dc CB 15:33:07 GMT - 08/23/2019
she's over heatin' capn'!!! I'll try to hold her, but she may blow!
Livingston nh 15:36:13 GMT - 08/23/2019
JP - somewhere in the basement of the WH there is a Plaque -- "Speak softly and carry a big stick" -- not a clue what he is going to "do"
I'm just glad China's paying for the tariffs
Mtl JP 15:40:41 GMT - 08/23/2019
re "....My only question is, who is our bigger enemy, Jay Powel or Chairman Xi?"
IF President Trump does not have his answer after today powell's performance I too would hope he take meds: Galantamine
Mtl JP 15:51:30 GMT - 08/23/2019
nh 15:36 my guess is Xi is not responsive to sight of "big stick"
he needs to FEEL it
probably as many times as it will take to improve his behavior
timing of which increasingly closer between successively harsher appliations
dc CB 15:53:48 GMT - 08/23/2019
nh--- not a clue what he is going to "do"
====The good news for Trump is that he has now fully figured out that he has the Fed in the palm of his hand, as he demonstrated just hours after Powell's July 31 rate cut when Trump broke the US-China trade ceasefire and re-escalated trade war, in the process sending rate cut odds soaring.
The flowchart logic, as shown below, is quite simple: all Trump has to do is engage in action that threatens to destabilize the global economy and Powell - as he certified during the last FOMC meeting - has to respond by cutting further, until he eventually reaches a point where QE may be the only possible outcome
Add the that analysis(below), the fact that Trump's opposition and the entire US MSM "wants" too push the country into a recession and yammers about it 24/7... and you can see that Trump has YUGE Momentum on his side to force the FED to Cut n QE.
all this is conjecture of course, until the NYT and the WaPost say it's so.
Livingston nh 16:03:24 GMT - 08/23/2019
Yeah CB - he's getting his lower USD against the majors today but some of the EM not so much// I thought Powell might have figured this out and at least push back a bit BUT...
Beware of low flying tweets!
Mtl JP 16:12:50 GMT - 08/23/2019
President Trump's advantage is that he holds the microphone and the on/ff switch and atm can decide to have the last word in.
dc CB 16:14:09 GMT - 08/23/2019
I'm just calling it the way I see it. all conjecture in my part...as would be a trade call...GBP will go up...down...etc
personnally I'm extremely unhappy about the way this is going. I hold the FED/Obama responsible for robbing me of several hundred thousand dollars over the 10 years that near Zero rates were paid on cash vs the "norrmal" 5% passbook rates of yore. Being forced to lend my money to Them almost free of charge.
PAR16:15:47 GMT - 08/23/2019
Central bankers are stupid and Trump seems to be the only bright person in the world to understand that.
Cut the power of the central banks.
Let's go back to a free-market economy where the markets set interest rates and not some idiots in Frankurt or Washington.
Negative interest rates will be history immediately and the world will be a better place.
Mtl JP 16:21:43 GMT - 08/23/2019
PAR could try to dissolve the FED and have the Treasury do Dollar bidding in the market.
But that would deprive him of a scapegoat for contrast.
PAR16:28:18 GMT - 08/23/2019
He can always blame China or France for the problems.
Mtl JP 16:38:29 GMT - 08/23/2019
In the interest of fairness - every coin has two sides - below is link to china s Editor-in-chief of Chinese and English editions of the Global Times - (in other words a mouthpiece) Hu Xijin
dc CB 16:41 hopefully that mitigates my earlier offense
BUT... it would be nice if it had wide reading by algos
side note / from Hu s last tweet "Without China's market of 1.4b people, US farm goods will have nowhere to go, farm land being abandoned, farmers going bankrupt. US energy products will also lose an infinite market.Chinese auto market is already bigger than US'...all of this don't have to happen.I hate trade war."
Who needs the CIA ... when Hu stupidly points out where just some of china achilies heels are
Mtl JP 22:02:49 GMT - 08/23/2019
