China opposes .... (the U.S. House bill on Uighurs)
Reuters December 4, 2019
BEIJING — The United States will not speculate on possible future actions by China in response to the U.S. House bill targeting camps for Muslims in western Xinjiang region, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing said on Wednesday.
“We continue to call on the PRC to immediately release all those arbitrarily detained, and to end its draconian policies that for more than two years have terrorized its own citizens in Xinjiang,”
Chinese communists do have a hard time absorbing things.
But they do like educating others.

The bill is a paper tiger with no special leverage that could affect Xinjiang. Xinjiang officials, including the Party chief Chen Quanguo will look at 'sanction' with scorn because they have no connection with the US. But US politicians with stakes in China should be careful. Hu Xijin 胡锡进 added,
Chinese strongly condemns and opposes the US #Uyghur human rights act that smears China's counter-terrorism and anti-secession work in #Xinjiang. China will respond according to the situation: Foreign Ministry.

following Trump comments .... How many more times are we going to trade on this?
Trump's comment: “In some ways, I think it’s better to wait until after the election if you want to know the truth. But I’m not going to say that, I just think that.”
How many more times are we going to trade on this? should rather be how long is “this” (trade war rhetoric) be tradeable for profit ?
Asians again puking in their socks, aping NY
Trade war (particularly hawk) rhetoric = your top sentiment driver (challenging even GDP releases)

Chatter earlier today that FinMins (Northern Europe) have been pushing back against the ECB on its negative interest rate policy. They would prefer to see asset purchases instead. There is little doubt that negative interest rates create unwelcome distortions to the financial sector. Lagarde is a politician and can be expected to do what she can to try to placate the EU bureaucracy.

Mixed risk bias early. Equities are slightly higher. The US. 10-yr at 1.831% -0.7bp is at a recently neutral level. In the pivotal EURGBP relationship, the GBP has been bid initially today. The GBPUSD seems to be pressing higher in the direction of 1.30 as the U.K. election looms in just over a week.
The EURUSD remains bid. There could be some end of year buying of EURUSD in play as profits are taken on U.S. equity holdings...
