you clearly had it better than we did in the uk, where once the broker picked up you had to first exchange pleasantries (especially in it was "your guy") before he took your order especially if the first call of the day and only then he sent your order off to the pit.
many a lesson was learnt in that period sometimes painful but worthwhile down the line. some insights from "my guy" stay with me til today.

There are no "official results" yet because nobody wants to go to the slam for certifying a cheat! It's that blatant.
Now everyone is in a pickle and don't know what to do. You wanna just "accept the results" and certify a "president-elect" that you know is false? OK, go ahead...it may be viscerally satisfying to a lot of people after Bush/Gore and Trump/Clinton, but let's face facts for what they are. The nation is being ordered by the mainstream media to accept a guy as president who stayed in his basement, didn't campaign much and had sparse attendance at public gatherings? Uh huh.
Instead of asking "who is watching anymore?", you might consider asking instead "who will actually consider Biden the president?" This is why everyone is on hold. The mainstream media is shouting "accept your new president" through the megaphone, but there is enough nagging doubt to make the entire house of cards fall down. Draping yourself in blue and standing in front of banners saying "office of the president-elect" won't make it so, and everybody knows it.

Republicans across the country escalate efforts to investigate credible allegations of fraud during the 2020 election, a group of ten Republican Attorneys General have filed an 'amicus brief' with the US Supreme Court in a case challenging the legality of late mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania.
AGs from Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Texas filed in Republican Party of Pennsylvania v. Boockvar, which challenges the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's late October decision to allow ballots arriving after Election Day to be counted - despite, as The Federalist notes - state laws mandating otherwise.
"Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our Republic and it’s one of the reasons why the United States is the envy of the world," said Missouri AG Eric Schmitt in a Monday press conference. "We have to ensure that every legal vote cast is counted in that every illegal vote cast is not counted."
"The actions taken by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court are one of the most breathtaking abuses of judicial authority that I’ve seen in my four-plus years as attorney general," said Oklahoma AG Mike Hunter.
Plaintiffs argue that the PA Supreme Court exceeded its authority and violated the Constitution's Election Clauses which give state legislatures, not the courts, the power and "unique role" to decide various election procedures.
"Our system of federalism relies on separation of powers to preserve liberty at every level of government, and the separation of powers in the Election Clauses is no exception to this principle," reads the amicus brief.
"We as attorneys general and we, as the chief legal officers of our state have a responsibility to address that kind of judicial abuse of authority because of the precedent that that decision represents can affect the outcome of elections, not only in Pennsylvania but national elections," said Oklahoma AG Hunter.

Personal Observations:
Looks like a Mixed Risk profile at this hour. We are getting mixed signals from U.S. equities. The NASDAQ (heavy tech weighting) is in a corrective phase, while the S&P is holding its own.

As for the Pfizer Coronavirus vaccine, there is no doubt that the announcement was a positive one, but more needs to be done before it is ready for a launch. More testing is required before the CDC can approve the drug. I hear today that if all goes well it COULD be launched sometime in the middle of 2021. It is still unknown how long the immunity will last. From a trading perspective, news on the virus tends to impact equities more directly more than forex.
The critical ERUGBP pair is on the soft side at this hour as EURUSD appears to be in a liquidating market. The GBPUSD remains at the mercy of the latest Brexit headlines.
The Aussie and CAD are weaker vs. the USD. No major data ar due from the U.S. today. Tomorrow is a partial bank holiday for a few key markets.

Sen Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, arguably the most powerful Republican in Washington (perhaps even moreso than President Trump), has finally spoken up, and he's backing President Trump.
Sen. McConnell said Monday that Trump has every right not to accept the final results based on little more than media reports, and that President Trump is within his right to request vote recounts and file legal challenges to address irregularities, he said in opening floor comments.
The Kentucky Republican, who fended off a well-financed Democratic challenger, added, with perhaps a touch of sarcasm, that last week’s election "appears to have been free from meaningful foreign interference".
Earlier, McConnell said before the vote that "all legal ballots must be counted, all illegal ballots should not be counted,” and McConnell said again Monday on the Senate floor that "the process must be transparent."
The implications of these comments are momentous, and they drive home the fact that, as we wait to hear more from President Trump and the rest of the GOP establishment, this happy-go-lucky straightforward transition being priced in by the market hasn't been finalized quite yet. The markets now appear to agree, as US equities slipping headed into the close after what has been a wild ride higher since this morning's vaccine news. With minutes to go, the VIX is green for the day, and small caps might be headed for one of their biggest intraday reversals ever.
