Gruesome 7Y Auction Sees Biggest Tail Since "That" Feb'21 Sale Which Nuked Bonds
After a subpar and tailing 2Y auction and a mediocre and tailing 5Y auction both of which took place on Monday in the holiday-shortened week, moments ago we got the week's final coupon issuance in the form of $35BN in 7Y paper. It was ugly. In fact, it was almost as ugly as that infamous Feb 2021 7Y auction which sparked a brief selling panic across the Treasury market.

Markets have got all excited after last week’s rip-roaring rally in global equities, a big tumble in U.S. Treasury yields and a bruising sell-off in the mighty dollar.
For months the US has repeatedly tried to coerce India into cutting ties with Russia, thereby abandoning its national interests. New Delhi, however, continues to spurn American attempts to subject its economy to Washington’s dictates.
The latest fuss concerns the G7 price cap on Russian oil and EU and UK bans on shipping and related services for Russian crude. India continues to have no interest in joining the US-led initiative as it gets a steep discount on oil from Russia and wants to maintain the relationship with a long-time strategic partner. Indian Foreign Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar was just in Moscow on Nov. 8 to discuss continued sales of oil. From the South China Morning Post:

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.4 percent in October on a seasonally adjusted basis, the same increase as in September, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 7.7 percent before seasonal adjustment.
The index for shelter contributed over half of the monthly all items increase, with the indexes for gasoline and food also increasing.
