US House Speaker McCarthy says negotiators have made some progress on debt ceiling, there are still sone outstanding issues. Negotiators worked well past midnight.
Heading into the long weekend a deal to raise the debt ceiling and avoid default is what market will expect snd factor in.
As noted in this article the surprise would be a debt default and thus the less likely outcome.

At least scaring the piss out of politicians has some mysterious effect of forcing them to do good without asking them to and their not having to worry about what the newspapers are gonna write against them (they can always sue them in court later down the line) and then having to answer "sticky questions with tricky answers" in congressional hearings about "what they were supposed to but didn't do"...

In anycase, 2/98... they default then the rest of the world is gonna have to send in hundreds upon hundreds of planeloads upon planeloads of foodstuffs, clothing and all other groceries for them, all day in and day out until the matter is resolved! It's an absolute must otherwise gang wars, lawlessness, sea piracy, terrorism, white collar crimes etc, and all kinds of mayhem would just break out all across the world just so suddenly, and all of that debt default is gonna become a boon to monsters who want to target American's living abroad! and that's just what is...
So the safest thing to do is to prepare and be ready for anything.
Trust me! on that one, just trust me...! it's not possible!
You want your people to go to bed hungry and wake up the next morning and there is no way to put food on their tables?!! or just forget about them, think about their children... it's just not possible for the government to default!
And 2/98 they default,,... The whole world is gonna have to bail them out!,The world doesn't have any choices here, it's non-negotiable or otherwise the US government will have to call them "to give back what they took!"... So...
